I applied for the internship position feeling excited yet nervous. I was ready to learn and experience new things, things that I am really interested in and things that are still unknown to me. Coming into TeamFFK, it was the first time I came into contact with video production, to be involved in the curation, the choice of music, the angles and the shots.
4 weeks into internship, I am glad that I learnt knowledge and is able to apply the skills taught into the work that I do. I was a little lost at the start, but I was really honoured enough to be under Kenneth, who is patient with me and make effort to train me personally. Following Kenneth’s guidance, one step at a time, I learnt to be professional when I need to shoot, to be stable with my shoots and always be courteous to everyone.
His training sessions may be rather unique such as following him to Gym workout and practicing shots in Gym. However, the experience was invaluable to me, I learnt how to pace myself in an awkward environment, how to be quick to get my angles because like in Gym, when there is a real wedding, no one is going to wait for me to focus. Like Kenneth said, “you probably need 10 hours of practise to get that 10s of good shot”. It is true, no one is born to shoot perfectly, all the aesthetically appealing shots comes with practice.
Shooting the BTS for wedding was a wonderful experience for me, to practise my shots and to learn useful tips at the same time. With a little pinch of joy, I was proud and extremely happy that Kenneth approved my work and publish it on his website as an encouragement for me.
I would really like to thank Kenneth for the opportunity to work for FFK and be involved in different types of shoot like weddings, corporate and BTS. These experience are of great values for me as through this internship, I not only learnt the skills of handling camera or editing applications, I also learnt life values such as perseverance and resilience.
